About the Job

The Resource Mobilisation Specialist will be responsible for supporting the establishment of new business and funding opportunities through systematic development and coordination of all processes in support of high-quality funding proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Development


  • Spearhead and manage proposal development efforts ensuring efficient coordination with teams and the submission of high-quality Donor proposals aligned to strategic priority themes

  • Facilitate internal workshops to support the compilation of proposals, and budgets, ensuring that high-quality standards are met and that proposals meet donor requirements

  • Clearly identify roles and responsibilities and key actions for proposal development and ensure that there is a robust internal review process in place to ensure quality proposals are submitted.


Contract Management and tracking


  • Support the negotiation and development of all relevant funding agreements and documentation

  • Support and facilitate the signing of funding contracts, aligned with organisational and funder requirements

  • Monitor and oversee contracts for the duration of the funding period, troubleshooting and problem-solving where issues arise


Partnership Management


  • Respond to and follow-up on leads, tenders, partnership enquiries

  • Undertake monthly data mining and production of reports to drive the partnership strategy

  • Manage the negotiation, development and implementation of all relevant partnership agreements and documentation, MOUs, SLA, etc to support the development of enduring and mutually beneficial partnerships


Funder Intelligence


  • Undertaking research to identify new and prospective partners across both the government and non-governmental sectors to maximise opportunities

  • Analyse available market research for funding opportunities in order to access and grow a pipeline of prospective funders

  • Conduct environmental scans and maintain donor intelligence (thematic orientations, modalities of engagement, entry points forecast etc.)


Fundraising


  • Co-ordinate fundraising efforts and opportunities

  • Mobilise and manage fundraising activities with team members and other departments to ensure the identification and cultivation of funding opportunities

  • Achieve agreed upon funding targets by closing new and existing funding opportunities


Policies, Processes System


  • Document, monitor and update an “end to end” proposal drafting/submission/reporting workflow process for the organisation

  • Communicate the proposal drafting/submission/reporting workflow process to all participants involved in the cycle, educating on quality standards, timelines and organisational requirements

  • Develop, review and strengthen the organisational Resource Mobilisation policies and processes.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field

  • Considerable experience in donor proposal writing and donor requirements

  • Proven track record in developing winning proposals.

  • Previous work experience in the NGO sector, working with funders and government and CBOs

  • Excellent writing skills and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching,

  • Ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
